My interest in wines dates back to 1987 when I enrolled for wine appreciations classes at the Agricultural Department at the Madrid Universidad Complutense, and then at the Centro Riojano. I learned the whole range of Spanish Denominación de Orígen wines of those years, which included reds, whites, sparkling cavas, sherries and brandies. Wine then became a passion to continue to explore in Spain and in Europe. I also learned that you don’t have to spend a fortune to drink a great wine.
I have been fortunate to have traveled the world and tasted and appreciated quality wines from many countries. Spain has been my home for 40 years and I know the products here and its modern evolution in cultivation and vinification processes over the past 15 years.
I am also well acquainted with the wine growing areas of Argentina and central Chile, and with many of their estates and products.
The wines I have chosen for my portfolio and to present to you are all made by small privately owned wineries with good hard-working family teams. Their hearts go into their wines. It is their passion.
My background of 14 years in the high-end luxury goods industry is reflected in Alfa Wines, Inc. endeavor to present you with the same high quality products in wines and olive oils.
