Almost 200 years ago, all manner of spices were distributed from a house near the Monte Arabi near Yecla to the surrounding villages.
This trade in spices from all over the world gave the house and the surrounding area their names, and now, all these years later Casa de las Especias, its land and climate gave us the extraordinary grapes which our traditions and hard work turn into quality wines of exceptional character.
The winery itself has 40 hectares of vineyards including the following varietals: Monastrell, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Syrah and Petit Verdot. Many of these are over 60 years old.
Casa de las Especias is clearly a unique site, blessed with incredible history and a promising future.
Since the harvest of 2005 the property in its entirety has been classified as a 100% Organic production area.
